In 1992, Avon launched The Avon Crusade Against Breast Cancer, helping to raise £1 million for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Not only did Avon put this new charity on the map, it also kick-started fundraising for what would be the world’s first research centre dedicated to breast cancer.

£2.4 MILLION DONATED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARITIES
As a company, Avon believe in a world where women and girls can live a life free from violence and abuse. One in four women will be a victim of violence in her lifetime. On average two women are killed every week by a current or ex-partner and each instance of violence is one too many. The paths that lead to these crimes often start at home and within relationships that should be sanctuaries of trust and love.
To draw attention to the unspoken violence devastating women’s lives during the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence Avon launched – a global campaign that shines a light on the different forms of non-violent abuse experienced by women around the world, including digital abuse, coercive control and emotional abuse. The campaign reached more than 50 million people.
